ZiNRA Prayer Theme

2 Corinthians 5:17-21;

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation’.

Our nation cannot continue on the path of retrogression, injustice, endemic corruption, individualism and mis-governance. These problems are largely at a national level and require a national and inclusive response by all citizens through repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation. ZiNRA hereby submits this proposal to make 2017 the Year of National Reconciliation and Renewal.

The Reconciliation and Renewal Main Points

We need to each reconcile ourselves back to God and trust and petition him to reconcile us to one another both as members of the body of Christ and as citizens of Zimbabwe. We also need to reconcile with our President and our Government.

  1. It is a year to stand before the mirror and be brutally honest about our identity and values. A year to reconcile our values (Ubuntu) with kingdom values of truth, justice and mercy.
  2. A year to stop pointing fingers and accept collective responsibility for the retrogression and failure of our nation and together seek and pray for Peace, Justice, Renewal and the healing of Zimbabwe.
  3. A year to reconcile our culture of a perverted self serving leadership to true servant leadership including learning and adopting new progressive cultural concepts of stewardship, good governance and wealth creation.
  4. A year to reconcile the Old Testament pattern of worship with the New Testament pattern of worship and adopt a pattern of worship relevant for this era, including the restoration, unification and revival of the church of Jesus Christ.

The Church must lead by example and take a bold step towards national reconciliation. To achieve this, each church and every Pastor is humbly requested to adopt this theme.
